George’s Gyros has been a beloved part of the Chicago community since 1975, but its story began long before the first gyro was served. George came to America from the old country with a strong work ethic, a love for good food, and a dream of building something of his own. Like many immigrants, he started out working in a factory, then found his way into a kitchen, where his passion for cooking and serving people truly came to life. Through years of dedication, hard work, and saving every dollar he could, George was finally able to open the doors to George’s Gyros—a place built on perseverance, pride, and heart.

From the beginning, George’s vision was simple: serve affordable, delicious food in a friendly, welcoming environment where everyone feels at home. It's a near perfect gyro that hits the gyro spot right and scratches the itch. The service is above average for Chicago with the team warmly recognizing you as a person, very similar in the way flight attendants treat you in business class vs. business class.

love this place!!! everything i’ve had here has been really good, especially the gyros, patty melt, and fish sandwich. fries are surprisingly good too! water and condiments are self serve. big portions for the price. i’m not someone who normally comments/cares about service at restaurants but the staff are really nice and chatty, not sure if they’re family but i wouldn’t be surprised. also they call you sweetie which makes me feel at home
